Dr. Vinod Vijay Potdar completed his Masters in Animal Genetics & Breeding (M.V.Sc.) from Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Science University, Nagpur in year 2003. Presently he is working as Associate Research Programme Manager at Animal Genetics and Breeding Department, Central Research Station of BAIF Development Research Foundation at Urulikanchan, Pune, Maharashtra. He is working in genetic improvement programmes of Indigenous Dairy Cattle and Buffalo Breeds of small dairy farmers in India using Genomic Selection Tool. He is involved in selection of breeding bulls of various dairy cattle breeds tract from various states using Standard Operation Procedure for Bull Selection Programme. He has interacts and provide inputs to dairy farmers, Government livestock development officers, technical officers and trustees working in dairy cattle breeding. He is the author and co-author of more than 30 research articles in national and international journals. His research interest lies in genetic improvement of Indigenous Dairy Cattle Breeds. He is well versed with Epidemiological Investigation of livestock diseases and efficient in conducting clinical trials of animal health products. He has conducted seminars, meetings and animal health camps in Co-operative Milk Unions and veterinary colleges of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, and Karnataka. He has organised elephants health camp in Kaziranga National Park, Assam.
