ABSTRACT
Grape production occupies significance in the context that it is the third most widely cultivated fruit crop after citrus and banana. Globally grape production contributes to about 16 per cent of the total fruit production. Grapevines require adequate supplies of nutrients for growth and fruiting. Nutrient deficiencies affect the quantity and quality of grape. Nutritional surveys carried out in different grape growing regions India have revealed that the growers are applying as high as 600 to 800 kg each of N, P2O5 and K2O per ha every year accounting for 30 to 40 per cent of an annual recurring costs. So it is very important to know the nutrient status of soils for efficient utilization of resources for sustainable and ecofriendly production of grapes.
